Interview with Piti #2
An Interview with Piti
Hello everyone, we are pleased to present our second exclusive interview with one of our users, Piti.
Piti is a sex worker based in Geneva, and we had the privilege to discuss with her about her background, her experience and her vision of the profession.
At La Compagnie, we value diversity and inclusion, and we are delighted to be able to give voice to someone who represents a community that is often marginalised and stigmatised. We hope that this interview will raise awareness of the reality of transgender sex workers and break down the stereotypes and prejudices that surround them.
We thank Piti for her generosity and sincerity throughout this interview, and we hope you enjoy this inspiring and enlightening conversation as much as we do.
So, tell us your story. How did you get started in the sex industry ? And how did your journey evolve ?
I started at the age of 16, initially out of obligation to survive. I was alone at the time, squatting with a small group of friends, rejected by my parents, my family and society because of my trans-identity.
I immediately loved this job not only for the pleasure of sex but also for all the exchanges with the clients without any mask or lies.
How has prostitution evolved since you started ?
Oooooh it's not the same at all. Back then there was no internet and more freedom of speech. There were a lot of clients and money was relatively easy. We worked less time and partied much more.
The type of performance has also changed a lot because the culture of sexual practices has changed a lot in recent years with sites like YouPorn.
Are there people in the industry that you find useful or interesting to follow on social media ?
Of course I follow LaCompagnie on Insta. I also follow Swiss TDS associations such as Aspasie, ProCore and Xenia. As a former Lyonnaise I follow Cabiria.
I also take the opportunity to talk about my podcast "Les jeudis du boulevard" that you can find on Spotify and Deezer, which I co-host with my friend Judith.
Can you tell us more about your podcast ?
The podcast is called "Les Jeudis du boulevard". It is available on Spotify and Deezer.
The world of prostitution is unknown to the general public. I am convinced that it's necessary to communicate, to explain, to answer the questions that people ask so that we are better considered in this society. The podcast seems to me, to be a good idea to spread our word more widely and make everyone understand who we are.
How did you decide to work with your face ? And how do you feel about it ?
Everyone in my family, friends, relatives and neighbours knows my job and I am proud to do it. Everything is much simpler and no one can blackmail me and put me under any pressure.
I was "lucky" not to have a family that loves me and that I could have disappointed or shocked by this type of announcement. So everything has been easy for me on this point. I live it perfectly well and I'm surprised how natural it becomes and a non issue for my relatives. For the others, I have learned to forget their looks and their hatred and to live my life.
The concern is mainly in my love life. My job tends to attract men who just want to 'do a hooker' or scare others away before they even know me. This has caused me many setbacks and pots of ice cream in front of Netflix ;-)
As sex workers, we face many challenges. What issues are important to you, and how do you think clients can help sex workers and become better allies ?
As a sex worker in Switzerland, there is of course the maintenance of the current legislation, which is a battle we have to continue to lead because nothing is ever won.
But beyond this legislation, there is of course our integration into society and our protection as citizens. We suffer unacceptable and unbearable discrimination in almost every aspect of our lives. I can mention the right to accommodation, access to the banking world, insurance, health care...
Finally, and this is the most important, the population has a lot of prejudices about us, which leads to rejection and hate. Making our world known and the woman behind the professional is a major challenge if we want the population to help us.
The client also suffers all this violence from society if he dares to say that he uses our services. I understand that it is difficult for him to admit it and to give the true climate and context of these services. The liberalisation of his word would obviously help us a lot.
Finally, for the countries around us, it is urgent to silence the abolitionists who are pushing us into the arms of MAC and to regulate the profession in order to make us free, independent and to put an end to the trafficking that we see too often in these countries.
What would your dream meeting look like ?
I'm a great romantic so it would be a long meeting (4-5 hours or all night) with a client who has a fantasy that has never been fulfilled. We would take the time to build up his desire and I would be able to read the pleasure in his eyes. I will take as much pleasure as he does in the sexual act. We would then take the time to discuss subjects he would be passionate about so that he could pass on this passion to me. We would then indulge another of his sexual fantasies. We would take the time to build up his desire ... again and again
What are the three best cities you've been to, and why ?
Geneva for a start. I love my city. A bit like the lake Léman, it appears flat and uninteresting from the outside, but underneath this appearance, there is an extraordinary life. I don't forget either that it is the city that welcomed me, the lost Lyonnaise, prostitute and transgender, and that made me a proud and strong citizen.
Marbella. There is no end to the partying, the weather is good, the food is good and the Andalusians are full of joy.
Saint Louis de la Reunion. It's a small town with a lot of charm, wedged between a soft, warm and welcoming sea and a lush, protected and natural volcanic peak.
Do you have a ritual for taking care of yourself after a client ? If so, can you share it with us ?
I smoke a cigarette and take a deep breath to get the adrenaline out of the service. If possible, I take a short shower, reapply my make-up. Then I put the money in a safe place.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work ?
I run at least once a day. I do very long distance trails (100 km and more)
I love shopping and am a fashion victim.
I love to learn and am very curious. I dig into subjects that clients have told me about and that I don't know about.
Finally, and perhaps most surprisingly, I read everything I can about medieval history. If I hadn't liked this profession so much, I would have finished my studies in this field.
How do you manage your work time with your personal life ? Do you take weekends off, regular holidays ... ?
I try to keep my two lives separate. I don't entertain at home but in a flat that I rent for the occasion. My clothes and even my make-up are different.
I always take a weekend day (Monday). I take time to do my trail running (4 to 5 days) and to spend time with my friends and family when they can come to Geneva.
I also take a week's holiday at the beginning of the year and two or three weeks in the summer.
In total, I work about 300 days a year .... Anyway, I am a freelancer.
My favourite restaurant : A bouchon Lyonnais
My favourite smell : The smell of melted chocolate
My favourite sextoy : A cute anal plug in the shape of a rabbit
If you want to buy me a drink you can buy me : A Gin Fizz
The craziest thing I've ever done in my life : I hesitate between running away from the shelter to live my life as a woman when I was only 16 and had no money or finishing the Diagonale de fous, a 165 km and 10,000 m race taking place in Reunion Island in just under 37 hours.
